Privacy policy

Last updated 21 October 2026. This policy explains how Fydigit ("we", "us") handles personal data on this website and in the BookingEdge service.

1. Who we are

BookingEdge is a cloud software service for hotels, resorts and homestays, provided by Fydigit, ASO 327, Astra Tower, Action Area II, Kolkata 700156, West Bengal, India ("BookingEdge", "we"). For questions about this policy, write to connect@fydigit.com.

2. Our two roles

  • For our own customers and website visitors (people who contact us, sign up, or use this website) we decide why and how their data is used. Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 we act as the data fiduciary.
  • For guests of properties that use BookingEdge, the property decides what guest data is collected and why. The property is the data fiduciary, and we process that data on the property's behalf as its data processor, only on its instructions. Guests should contact the property directly about their data; we will help the property respond.

3. What we collect

We do not store payment card numbers. Online payments are processed by the payment gateway the property uses, under that provider's own policies.

4. How we use data

  • To provide, maintain, secure and support the BookingEdge service.
  • To respond to enquiries and communicate with customers about their account, including service and billing messages.
  • To meet legal obligations, such as tax, accounting and law-enforcement requirements.
  • To improve the service using aggregated information that does not identify individuals.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not use guest data processed for a property for our own marketing.

We process data with your consent (for example when you send an enquiry), or for legitimate uses permitted by law, such as performing a contract with our customer or meeting a legal obligation. You may withdraw consent at any time by writing to us; this does not affect processing already done.

6. Who we share data with

  • Service providers who help us run the service, such as cloud hosting, email delivery and payment processing, under contracts that protect the data.
  • Distribution partners such as OTAs or Google Hotels, only when a property connects that channel, and only the data needed for its bookings, rates and availability.
  • Authorities when the law requires it.

7. Security

We use technical and organisational measures to protect data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, optional two-step sign-in, access control by company, property and role, activity logging and regular backups. See our security page. No system is completely secure; if a personal data breach occurs we will inform affected customers and authorities as the law requires.

8. How long we keep data

We keep customer account data for as long as the account is active and afterwards for the period needed for legal, tax and accounting purposes. Guest data is kept as instructed by the property; financial records may need to be kept for the period required by Indian tax and company law. Enquiries that do not lead to an account are deleted after 24 months.

9. Your rights

Subject to the law, you may ask to access a summary of your personal data, correct or update it, have it erased, withdraw consent, and nominate another person to exercise your rights. Guests should send requests to the property; we will assist the property. To exercise your rights with us, write to connect@fydigit.com.

10. Cookies

See our cookie policy.

11. Children

Our service is meant for businesses. We do not knowingly collect data from children except as part of guest records kept by a property, for which the property is responsible.

12. Grievance Officer

In line with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and its rules, you can reach our Grievance Officer at connect@fydigit.com (subject: "Grievance"), by phone at +91 88675 74075, or by post at Grievance Officer, Fydigit, ASO 327, Astra Tower, Action Area II, Kolkata 700156, West Bengal, India. We acknowledge grievances within 24 hours and aim to resolve them within 15 days. If you are not satisfied, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India.

13. Changes

We may update this policy. We will post the new version here with its date, and tell customers about significant changes.
